Cowboy’s Lament : a depilatory ditty

There once was a cowboy named Beaut

Whose shoulders and back were hirsute

His wife said “My Nair

Will remove all that hair

Then I’ll see your true birthday suit”

Beaut had no desire to be shorn

Nor resemble the day he was born

His manly pelt offered

The chance to be “coiffured”

By Shirl at the town’s hair salon

Angst was no stranger to Beaut

A sensible plan was not moot

He fled ‘cross the plain

With his cowboy pal Wayne

And both Shirl and his wife in pursuit
