My lovely daughter has posted this today which has saved me the task. This is our village and the chaos it has been plunged into this morning.

Residents of the village of Braunton in North Devon, woke this morning to find that their village was almost completely underwater.

The heavy rain in recent days was too much for the village’s main river, the Caen, which burst it’s banks causing severe flooding throughout the village.

All of the major roads in and out of the village are flooded or closed as police and fire crew do their best to pump the water off the street and sandbank residences and businesses that are at risk of flooding.

The floods, which have been described as ‘the worst since 1962’ has caused flooding in many of the villager’s houses and businesses and has completely cut the village off from the outside world.

The latest information given by The Environmental Agency (13:17, 22nd Dec) said that although river levels are dropping, heavy rainfall is forecasted throughout Saturday and into Sunday, meaning that…
