The rich get richer ….
It’s interesting to note that, while we continue to suffer from a housing crisis in this country and the government is now proposing to fine poor people for having under-occupied hovels, we still continue to build urban-palaces in London which are pretty much used as occasional weekend retreats for the super-wealthy, rather than actual residences.
These billionaires’ holiday homes might appear, at first glance, to be the virtually exclusive residences of the arms dealers, drugs barons, dictators, slavers, pimps, traffickers, pornographers and gangsters who have made their fortunes through ruthlessly exploiting others, but it’s worth remembering that many of these people have now gone “legit” and ended-up owning some of our most prestigious hotels, media outlets and football teams, so that’s all good and fine. Say what you like about the inspirational qualities of entrepreneurs or sports heroes, these are the real aspirational role models whose success our children will…
