I’ve been bringing up my children alone for the past 16 years which has left little time for me. However, they are now both in their late teens and fairly independent; the youngest is studying for his A levels and the eldest is in her third year at university, and the balance is starting to swing in my direction.

I work in a secondary school in the Art and Technology Departments which are very busy but a lot of fun and always interesting. Outside work I sing in a small mixed choir, make dresses, read novels, attempt to grow flowers in my garden, dance to keep fit and get out and about in our beautiful countryside when the weather permits. I’m also working towards my Art and Design GCSE, something I never got to do as a child.

I started this blog because now and again I feel the need to put my thoughts and feelings down in a place of their own. Sometimes it’s poetry, sometimes prose, often accompanied by my own photography, sometimes not. I write about events in my local area, trips I’ve made, books I’ve read, creative projects undertaken – in fact anything I feel I want to share.

Have just spent a half hour looking at your pics. I travelled a lot in India, Thailand, Japan etc. in the nineties. The golds and reds in your Jaisalmer pics are breathtaking. Well done.

Such an inspiring blog, Bridget, in fact such an inspiring woman! But I always knew that, even back in the days when we used to sunbathe on the roof of our apartment block in Tokyo with Gerri!!!!

Good for you! And I mean it. We all have lots of interests and side lines and isn’t it wonderful when the children spread their wings and soar with your compass?

Your life sounds so fun and creative! I wish I found your blog sooner, I’m really looking forward to seeing more. I only managed to find one of your books I have read; The art of happiness by Dalai Lama, do you have any favourite reads you recommend? 🙂

    • Bridget August 5, 2014 / 4:57 pm

Hi Trish. I would recommend all my books! If you visit my Librarium pages (2012,2013 & 2014) you’ll find my thoughts on all the books I’ve read in recent years. I can recommend most of them, but mostly I recommend reading….anything.
